Time Waits On No Man & There Are No Life Guarantees

Have you heard that there are only two certainties in this world – death and taxes?

So the best advice that I can possibly give you in travel is to stay calm and expect the unexpected.

Sure I can provide you details on the challenges of travel, the joys of travel, the  best destination resorts to visit, which country has what entry restrictions, the best travel bargains and so much more but the truth still remains that there are no certainties.  Anytime you travel you should travel with an open mind and with flexibility and know that when you use a travel consultant that you will never be alone. Forbes, along with many others, have provided many points of consideration in considering how important  travel consultants are during this pandemic. Forbes provides 5 Reasons Why You Need a Travel Agent – More Than Ever.

Human-beings have a tendency to live in a special bubble; the bubble of “ME”! Everything revolves around what makes “ME” happy and what gives “ME” the greatest comfort, and what makes logical sense to “ME” but if all the world operates within the bubble of “ME” then how can we possibly believe that every desire that we have and every expectation that we have will be fulfilled?

Remember DEATH AND TAXES!!!

Today is no different than yesterday when it comes to certainties; therefore, always expect the unexpected and plan for them the best way possible but without going overboard. We still don’t know when we will die; only that we will.

"The present is the only reality and the only certainty."

Flexibility & simply enjoying the journey is truly the key to sanity in travel!

Travel is more than just a destination it’s a intimate encounter of soul, body and mind. Give yourself time to truly enjoy the journey.

Before arrival and once in destination you need to survey the land; research the destination by often looking in places that others may have never gone. Discovery takes time; so, be patient, relax and take the time you need to properly plan your starting point. Once you get started discovering, let your senses be your guide. Listen, smell, taste, touch, and explore with eyes wide open. Take it all in. Leave trouble and work behind and truly enjoy the journey.

This is your moment in time and you deserve every firecracker sensation that your body is feeling. Turn off your phone and turn off your mind from status quo. Don’t let fear destroy your experience; be willing to go to the unknown places and make your journey unique. Explore the corner places, taste exotic treats, and do things you’ve never done. Make sure this will be a journey you will never forget! Leave your journey exhilarated, refreshed and exhausted but fulfilled.

Remember, it’s about the journey not the destination but sometimes both come together to provide the most exhilarating and relaxing experience of all time!

I recently spent my Christmas holiday in the Dominican Republic and on Saona Island. As you can see in my video below, the journey and the destination were both amazing.

The key to Living Life to the Fullest is recognizing what you do and don’t have control over as well as analyzing the risk present in each situation.

Any good risk mitigation plan includes Identifying the risk; Analyzing the risk; Prioritizing the risk; Treating the risk; and Monitoring the risk. Your aversion to risk is very individual and each of us should use risk mitigation to determine our individual impacts.

I have been near death a few times and; well, my choice is that I can accept a little more risk to ensure I am Living Life to the Fullest. I definitely don’t just throw caution to the wind but I mitigate. There are a large number of steps we each can take to mitigate our perceived and proven risks.

I invite you to follow your conscience, the CDC and whatever mitigation plan you have before choosing to travel from home to the grocery store and/or from home to some exotic island.

I also invite you to review the following websites as you consider joining our upcoming journey where we will practice social distancing, wear masks and travel in a small group for a very health and social distancing conscience journey March 25 – 28, 2021.

There are certainly no guarantees in life and we hope you will find a little risk aversion and join our covered nose and mouth smiles for 6 Ft. in distance fun!
